About Sam
I'm a certified wetland scientist, which means I have real-world experience not just in biology as a whole, but also in botany, geology, ecology, and many other fields of study - I'm a jack of all trades! I graduated with a B.A. in Environmental Biology, so not only do I know stuff, but I know how to communicate it. I've completed over 200 credit hours of courses in everything from microbiology to soil science, and as a practicing scientist, I know how to problem solve - If we run into a problem or concept that's super difficult, we'll figure it out together.

I like to tutor in a way that is conversational and personal, and I focus on people, not just concepts. I try to learn how you learn, and keep things super grounded, so that you leave each session not only knowing the material, but knowing how it connects to the real world. What sets me apart is my background as an environmental scientist with field certifications, which allows me to bring real-life science experience into the lesson. I work best with high school and early college students in biology, ecology, and environmental science who want clear, practical guidance and a tutor who explains things in a way that sticks.
