About Jonathan
I am a current student at Sam Houston State University. I have been playing the violin for 12 years. I was president of my high school orchestra, played in my church worship band, and performed many gigs. I have had 6 years of private and group lesson teaching experience from beginner and intermediate to advanced. I have taught kids to read music in Texas and Guatemala for the last 4 years. Due to Covid-19 I have been unable to do much in person work, so I hope I can reach aspiring violinists and music enthusiasts through this platform!

My approach to instruction is based on the individual abilities of each student. In the beginning we will work together to see what you know and gage your current ability. We will then set specific goals to reach. This can range from mastering a certain technique, nailing down the fundamentals, or just focusing on one song. I will do my best to understand your specific learning style and develope a plan that best suits your needs.
