About Tessa
I am a Violin tutor with more than 9 years of teaching experience and have successfully taught over 650 students. Throughout my teaching career, I have helped learners build confidence, discipline, and strong technical abilities while developing a genuine appreciation for music.
Working with students of different ages and skill levels has taught me the importance of adapting teaching methods to individual needs. Some learners progress through technical exercises, while others thrive through performance-based learning and creative exploration. My role is to identify the most effective path for every student.
I understand that violin can feel challenging in the early stages because of the precision required for tone, intonation, and bow control. My lessons break these challenges into manageable steps that make learning both achievable and enjoyable.
Many students who started with little or no musical experience have progressed into confident performers through consistent instruction and structured practice. Their achievements continue to motivate and inspire my teaching.
My goal is to help every student become a confident, expressive, and technically skilled musician while enjoying the learning process and developing a lifelong connection with music.

My Violin lessons are designed to help students develop strong technical foundations, musical confidence, artistic expression, and performance readiness. I teach posture, bow control, finger placement, intonation, tone production, sight reading, rhythm development, ear training, music theory, and performance preparation through structured and progressive lessons.
Students begin by mastering the essential fundamentals that support long-term success. Correct posture, bowing technique, finger coordination, rhythm accuracy, and listening skills are carefully developed from the beginning. These foundations help learners progress confidently while avoiding common technical difficulties.
As students advance, lessons include vibrato, shifting, advanced bowing techniques, expressive phrasing, musical interpretation, ensemble playing, and performance preparation. Technical exercises, scales, studies, and carefully selected repertoire are used to strengthen both skill and musicality.
I believe students should understand music rather than simply reproduce notes. Therefore, lessons integrate theory, listening skills, and interpretation to help learners become complete musicians. Students are encouraged to think creatively and develop their own artistic voice.
Whether preparing for examinations, auditions, competitions, orchestras, recitals, or personal enjoyment, every lesson is tailored to support individual goals and learning styles.
