"I am a passionate violin tutor with over ten years of experience and a BM in Jazz Violin Studies. My extensive background spans solo, chamber, and orchestral performance, which allows me to prepare students thoroughly for the stage. I specialize in helping dedicated violinists master audition preparation for competitive youth orchestras and top-tier music conservatories.
In our lessons, we focus on building a commanding stage presence and diving deep into the interpretation of advanced classical and modern repertoire. I work closely with motivated high school performers, conservatory students, and regional competition entrants who want to refine their skills. I once coached a nervous high school sophomore through a major orchestra audition, helping them turn their anxiety into focused performance energy.

"My teaching methodology focuses heavily on fostering creative freedom and spontaneous musical expression on the violin. We dive deep into improvisation across diverse non-classical styles including jazz, folk, and world music. I teach you how to easily create beautiful melodies over chord changes and develop your own unique improvisational voice.
This approach is highly beneficial for singers who want to play beautiful fills behind their own vocals during church services. It is also perfect for actors and musicians who love show tunes and want to add creative flourishes to theatrical scores. I remember helping a local church musician who only knew how to read sheet music learn to play a moving solo completely by ear.
By pushing you to explore your musical intuition, you will learn to trust your ears and play without fear. We practice breaking down chord charts into simple scale shapes so you always know exactly what notes will sound great. Together, we will unlock your inner jazz or folk fiddler and give you the confidence to jam in any musical setting."
