About Marshall
I studied Music Performance for the Violin for two years at Illinois Wesleyan University, where I studied music theory, participated in orchestra, and took classes that educated me on the art of teaching music privately. Before college, I learned and practiced the Violin all throughout my life starting at age 6. I've worked through countless different books and have a very sizeable and notable repertoire of important pieces of music that establish a good base and range of experience. I have experience playing in orchestras all throughout highschool and college in both first and second Violin positions. I also have experience in Violin competitions and talent fairs and have multiple wins and top finishes across the board. I own SuttleStrings Music Studio which does local performances and teaches locally.

My lessons are customized for each student based on their learning style and experience with the instrument. When you book with me, you get a personalized experience that is unique!
A typical lesson will address 3 important parts of Violin practice: Scales, etudes, and repertoire. Scales to practice foundational mechanics, etudes to practice important techniques, and repertoire to build up your music library!
These lessons are intended for any age, through the range of new, just starting beginners all the way to advanced Violin.

Details
I offer one trial lesson of 30 minutes to let you get the feel of my teaching style and see what a sample lesson would contain! My starting rate is 30$ an hour, with no extra fees such as travel fees. I am willing to travel locally 20 miles, but otherwise I am more than happy to teach over Zoom or other video methods!
