About Fiona
I've been playing music from early childhood and have been privileged to enjoy a long and varied career. I've toured nationally and internationally with a wide range of projects including classical orchestras and string quartets, a variety of theatre shows, dance companies- contemporary to folk, and many bands from Blues, Pop and Funk to Celtic and Klezmer.. and much more besides. I believe that variety is the spice of music, and so encourage students to explore a range of musical styles. My own passion is creative improvisation so I love to share this. I am a member of the Musicians Union, and am fully insured and DBS- checked.

I've been teaching students from beginners to advanced and from 5 -80 years old, for over 30 years. I aim to make lessons fun and relaxed. I can teach you to read music if desired, or learn by ear. I can teach many styles including classical (Grade exams possible), Folk (Celtic, American, Eastern European/ Gypsy Etc) and Jazz. Lessons are usually 1 hour for adults and half an hour for children. I'm flexible on lesson times to suit- they don't have to be weekly. Some people come every other week, or now and again according to availability.
