About Jonathan

My name is Jonathan and I am a private tutor. I started tutoring during college while I studied Mathematics and Computer Science. I have since gained 6+ years of tutoring experience. I have tutored for all the major tutoring companies. I even tutored and directed a program at Let's Get Ready, a non-profit organization that helps disadvantaged youth enter into the college of their dreams. I now tutor independently. I have a passion for helping students build a solid educational foundation that they will use to succeed in work and school. What I enjoy even more than teaching students is helping them gain confidence. Confidence is paramount to success in school, work, and life. I specialize in Test Prep (SAT, ACT, ISEE, SSAT, SHSAT), College Essay Writing, and Mathematics. I also tutor Basic Computer Literacy, English (Writing, Reading), and Computer Science. I have a proven track record of helping students excel.

About the lesson

I design and implement experience-based methods of education. I believe the key to private education is catering each lesson to the student's particular set of personality traits and academic strengths/weaknesses. Adapting each lesson to every student's unique needs is how I provide what is missing from the classroom. I develop lesson plans by deriving weaknesses from information provided to me from parents/students as well as practice tests and focusing on those areas until proficiency and confidence have developed.

Jonathan worked with both of my daughters. One was a great student and needed some extra work to perfect her SAT score, my other was a bit of a slow learner. Jonathan adapted his teaching style to each of them, provided actionable strategies for each section of the test, and was able to boost my one of my daughters scores by 200 points and the other one from 1490 to 1550. He was also professional and had a a great sense of humor that made the sessions fun for both daughters.
