About Richard
I have taught English, American, and World literature and composition to thousands of students from Middle School to AP Level High School seniors and have tutored hundreds more. Students have developed their writing, logic, sense of voice, and acquisition of vocabulary. Their standardized test scores have improved because they know what to expect on any given testing day.

I run a Socratic classroom in which students learn to debate, explore, and develop their understanding of a wide range of texts. When I teach Shakespeare, my students become actors. When I work with individual students, we focus on both the immediate and the long term so we can meet deadlines as well as look to constant improvement.
