About Marisa
I made my first roller derby roster in 2011. Since then, I've played from the Carolinas to Seattle. I can teach you how to skate, whether you want to cruise at the rink, take on the trails, or play derby.

I start with a chat session. My instruction is geared to your specific goals and I design programming to meet you where you are today. Never stood up on skates? I've taught many beginners. Fresh meat looking for an edge at draft? I've judged many draft classes.
I believe in building skills and confidence at the same time. Every lesson progresses from slow speed basic moves, to real life speed, to adding a bonus round. We also briefly review recent past lessons for muscle memory, and then add another level.
I provide optional off-skates coordination and strength drills as well.
