About Loni
I am a dedicated violin tutor with 6 years of teaching and professional music experience, passionate about helping students grow as technically skilled, confident, and expressive musicians. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners exploring their first notes to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams.
One of the most meaningful milestones in my career has been guiding students from struggling with posture, technique, or stage confidence to performers capable of playing with precision, expression, and emotional depth.
My teaching emphasises strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also nurturing creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive playing. I integrate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to ensure students develop a comprehensive understanding of music.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style, creating a supportive, patient, and inspiring environment where students feel encouraged to explore, experiment, and grow. Teaching violin allows me to cultivate confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love for music in every student I teach.

I teach violin using a methodology based on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to cultivate technically skilled, expressive, and confident musicians. Lessons are customised to the student’s abilities, goals, and learning style, balancing structured technical exercises with creative exploration, improvisation, and performance practice.
Motivation drives learning. I help students set meaningful goals, monitor progress, and celebrate milestones, fostering perseverance, self-confidence, and a lifelong love for music. Communication ensures lessons are interactive, collaborative, and supportive, providing a space for students to ask questions, express challenges, and explore ideas freely.
Creativity is integrated throughout every lesson. Improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises allow students to explore their artistic voice and deepen their emotional connection to music. Integrity emphasises disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, cultivating habits that ensure consistent progress and long-term growth.
Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and basic piano, providing a comprehensive musical foundation. This methodology nurtures technical skill, artistic expression, confidence, and lifelong engagement with music.
