About Alex

Throughout my schooling, I have been awarded the Academic Excellence Award for Engineering by Engineers Australia at the end of Year 12. I also received a Certificate of Distinction from the Schools Curriculum and Standards Authority for obtaining mostly A grades throughout Year 10 to Year 12. I got the top score in my school for Year 11 & 12 Math Methods and Year 11 Math Specialist. I received A grades for Year 12 Math Specialist, Year 12 Physics and Year 12 Chemistry. I have completed a Bachelor of Engineering Science and Finance at UWA, as well as a Master of Professional Engineering majoring in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. I am also a recipient of the UWA $25,000 Engineering Scholarship. The scholarship awarded my academic accomplishments from high school. Currently, I work as an Electrical Engineer. I have tutored several students throughout the years and I really enjoyed the experience. I really like getting to know new people and I try my best explaining concepts in the most detailed and coherent way. In the future, after my career as an engineer, I would like to someday do high school teaching. I find teaching fulfilling and enjoyable, and I love helping out other people.

About the lesson

I can tutor all levels of school mathematics up to Year 12 Math Methods and Specialist. I can also teach level one University bridging math units (equivalent to ATAR Methods and Specialist).

I can also tutor all levels of school physics and chemistry up to Year 12 ATAR. I can also teach level one University bridging physics and chemistry units (equivalent to ATAR Chemistry and Physics).

I base my tutoring method on understanding the question. I do this by exploring every idea and step in answering a question such as "What unknowns/knowns are relevant?" or "How should you interpret the question?"

I also provide the most efficient methods of solving a problem to make it easier and convenient for students to understand and remember.

I can provide lesson material and study material (all free of charge) if necessary. I am more than happy to look through a student's self-provided exam material, study guides and textbook material.

I can do weekday evenings or anytime on the weekends/public holidays. Please let me know if you like to schedule a lesson weekday afternoons and I can make special arrangements.
