USC Thornton alum offering lessons on songwriting, voice and guitar in LA with 10 years experience

In the summer of 2019, I had the pleasure of studying with Lauren Jones, Songwriting Instructor, at Interlochen Arts Camp. Lauren expertly shared her knowledge in music theory, the music business, and songwriting. Lauren is thoughtful, engaging, and presents material in an organized way. She established a classroom atmosphere that fostered our curiosity, demonstrating an innate understanding of each student’s individual learning needs.
In addition, she embraced her role as a mentor outside the classroom, offering me guidance as I navigated my college audition process. Lauren is a phenomenal artist and teacher, and anybody who has the opportunity to learn from Lauren is very lucky!

As an experienced songwriting instructor myself and the founder of the Popular Music program at the University of Southern California, I couldn't recommend Lauren more highly as a songwriting instructor. Lauren not only thoroughly understands the songwriting craft, but she is able to thoughtfully articulate this process in a clear, sequential way that allows her students to build skill sets and reach their goals. She is equally capable and experienced as a lyricist, musician, producer and arranger - so her students have the benefit of her complete knowledge base. Lauren has my strong endorsement.

Lauren is such an amazing teacher. For myself who is new at playing the guitar, Lauren has been so patient and has a way of teaching that makes it easy to pick up. I highly recommend Lauren whether you are new at learning or even if you have been playing for a while.
