About Mohid

Hello! I'm Mohid, a University of Toronto student studying Economics with double minors in Statistics and Mathematics.

I began tutoring math back in Grade 12, working one-on-one with students to break down homework and test prep. Because math was something I had to work hard to master myself, I truly understand where students get stuck and how intimidating high school math can feel. My time tutoring in high school taught me how to adapt my explanations to each student's unique learning style rather than just forcing one rigid formula.

Combined with my quantitative background from UofT and experience as an RBC Data Analyst intern, I provide reliable, patient, and practical guidance. My goal is to make high school Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus stress-free while giving you the exact tools you need to boost your grades and feel confident on exam day.

About the lesson

My tutoring focuses on making high school math approachable, structured, and stress-free. As a UofT Economics major minoring in Statistics and Mathematics, I specialize in breaking down complex concepts in Calculus, Advanced Functions, Algebra, Geometry, and Logic into clear, step-by-step methods that students can easily master.

Who my lessons are for:
High school students (Grades 9–12) taking standard math, Advanced Functions, or Grade 12 Calculus & Vectors looking to build core understanding, prepare for tests, or boost their grades for university applications.

Typical Lesson Structure:

Review & Homework Check (10 mins): Clarify lingering questions from class or previous assignments.

Targeted Concept Breakdown (20 mins): Work through core principles using intuitive visual examples instead of rigid formulas.

Guided Practice (20 mins): Solve practice problems together step-by-step, building confidence and problem-solving speed.

Wrap-Up & Key Takeaways (10 mins): Highlight common test traps and outline action items for the week.

What sets me apart:
I wasn't always a math natural — I actually struggled with math early on in my academic journey. Through trial and error, I figured out what study strategies and visual breakdowns truly worked for me, which allowed me to build real confidence and pursue a Math and Stats minor at UofT. Because I've been in your shoes, I know exactly where students get stuck and how to teach the specific learning techniques that make math click.
