About Michele
I am a current PhD student in theoretical physics, I enjoy teaching and discussing interesting mathematics and physics problems. When I was an undergrad at the University of Edinburgh I used to meet every Friday night with a group of peers to work on challenging problems together, and would like to tutor with a similar idea in mind: solving problems with the student, and helping them develop intuition on their own. I have tutored high school students in the past, and this method proved to be successful both as a way of learning and as preparation for an exam. Moreover, and most importantly, it is a great way to make the subject enjoyable!

I would like to teach mostly via problem solving. Ideally the student and I would agree on what material to cover in advance and select some problems to work on before we meet. When the session takes place we review the necessary theory and clear up difficult concepts before moving on to the most important part: the problems.
I believe it's best to gauge the student's understanding by letting them explain their attempts at a solution, and then helping them accordingly, this is the way problem sessions are run at most universities, and I believe the most efficient way to learn mathematics and physics.
