About Jasper

Hi future students! I graduated from Mount Roskill Grammar School in 2021, and I am currently at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, studying my 3rd year of Medicine. I was also offered the University of Auckland Top Achiever Scholarship (worth $25,000) and the University of Otago Academic Excellence Entrance Scholarship (worth $30,000). In terms of my academic achievements, I had all my NCEA subjects endorsed with excellence, achieved the qualification for University Entrance in year 12, my 2021 raw UCAT score was 3160 (97th percentile), and received interviews for multiple Australian medical schools. I additionally have a diploma in Music Performance (violin) from ABRSM. In terms of organization and leadership roles, I was House Captain and then Prefect for my high school. Additionally, I have 3 years’ experience playing first violin in the Auckland Youth Orchestra and concertmaster in the MRGS String Orchestra. I am currently serving in an executive role in the Asian Medical Students’ Association Australian Chapter as the Director for Marketing and Sponsorship. Although these qualifications are important, I believe that a passion for helping others is the key to good tutoring. Just like how I am training to be a doctor to support the health of others, I now have the opportunity as a tutor to unlock the potential of others to be the best they can be.

About the lesson

As someone who has both benefited from mentorship and guidance, I understand how important personalized support can be for achieving academic success. Whether you are someone who needs detailed lessons to crunch those tough topics, or the last bit of support to push that Merit to an Excellence, I am sure I can be that help. What I offer: Tutoring for Level 1/2/3 NCEA (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Calculus, Statistics, English), UCAT preparation tutoring, Australian Medical School/University application guidance, NZ University Scholarship Application guidance, Undergraduate Biomedical/Medicine tutoring. My Approach: I believe in personalized tutoring that caters to the unique learning styles and needs of each student. Drawing upon my experience in High School and Medical School, I see the struggle that many of my colleagues feel when their way of learning is not supported by their teachers. The ‘words on a whiteboard’ method is simply not conducive for most students' learning. I bring a fresh perspective by allowing you to request how topics should be taught to you so that each level of information is accessible for you. Lessons are typically 60 minutes per session, but length and content can be individualized for your needs. I also offer a free first lesson for you to trial my services.
