About Joshua

I’m a passionate and approachable tutor who genuinely enjoys helping students succeed — not just in math, but in how they learn overall. I completed HSC Extension 2 Mathematics with Honor Roll recognition and am currently in my third year of Mechatronic Engineering at UNSW. I also bring formal teaching training to my approach, as I’m completing a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. With over three years of tutoring experience, I’ve worked with students of all levels and learning styles. My goal is to make math feel more manageable, more logical, and even enjoyable. I combine strong subject knowledge with a focus on study skills and strategy, so that students can build confidence, overcome challenges, and achieve their academic goals. Whether you’re aiming for top results or just need some extra support, I’ll meet you where you’re at and help you move forward.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to build both mathematical confidence and effective study habits. I tutor students from Years 9–12, including Standard and Advanced Maths, with a strong focus on developing long-term learning strategies alongside academic performance.

Each lesson runs for 1 hour online. We begin by reviewing your weekly study schedule and introducing a small, practical study technique — this helps you stay organised and improve how you learn, not just what you learn. The rest of the session is dedicated to personalised maths tutoring based on your schoolwork or a backup topic I’ve planned to target your needs. You’ll receive a summary and customised homework after each lesson to reinforce what we covered.

I’ve been tutoring maths for over 3 years, completed Extension 2 Maths with an Honour Roll distinction, and am currently studying Mechatronic Engineering at UNSW. I’m also undertaking a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to strengthen my teaching methods.

These lessons are perfect for students who want structured support, better results, and the tools to become more independent learners. Whether you're aiming for a Band 6, preparing for trials, or just trying to keep up, I’ll help you build the skills to succeed.
