About Joel

My name is Joel and I have recently graduated with a MSc in Financial Mathematics as well as a BSc in Mathematics and Economics from the London School of Economics. My higher education degree has helped me acquire in-depth knowledge in Mathematics and Economics; learning new techniques to solve mathematical and economic problems which I will use when tutoring clients. I have been tutoring for over 5 years now; tutoring privately as well as with companies/organisations such as Tutor Doctor and the National Tutoring Programme. Over the years I have developed a full-proof tutoring style. My tutoring style begins with a candid assessment of a student’s strengths and weaknesses to establish clear, realisable goals. Through structured and interactive lessons tailor-fitted to identified knowledge or foundational gaps, I am able to motivate my students to join me on a journey that inspires them to work hard to achieve our shared objectives of success – namely helping the student grow in confidence, enjoy the subject and achieve great results. I utilise a variety of teaching methods, incorporating hands-on activities, visual aids, and engaging discussions. Regular assessments and feedback allow for continuous improvement and personalised guidance. Ultimately, my goal is to create a supportive learning environment that fosters confidence, critical thinking, and a passion for academic success.

He’s tremendously helped me in my A-levels - at the beginning of year 12 I was at a C in Economics and now in year 13 i’ve been predicted an A, all thanks to the support Joel has given me.

Worked at a fast rate and helped me understand every topic. Would do questions to test my knowledge and at the end of every topic would set exam style questions under timed conditions. I found this useful because it helped me prepare for these type of questions in the exam.
