About Nathan

My name is Nathan Sosa and I am currently an Undergraduate Student at the University of Rochester majoring in Biomedical Engineering to one day become a Prosthetics Engineer and help amputees live their life to the fullest. I have tutored elementary students in underfunded schools with iEducate USA which is where I developed my love for tutoring. I chose to tutor math since I developed a love for it in school and has always been my strongest subject, but also because I know math concepts can be hard to grasp for some. I firmly believe everyone can be good at math with enough practice, which is why I want to relieve students of the stress of not understanding a concept and show that they are capable of learning and understanding difficult topics. Additionally I hope to make great connections with my students and spread the love of math through my lessons.

About the lesson

The math levels I can teach you include:
- Algebra 1
- Algebra 2
- Geometry
- Precalculus
- Calculus 1
- Calculus 2

From Elementary students to High School students, I’ll make learning math easy and fun for everyone!

Lessons consist of primary evaluations to assess where the student stands in their understanding of the topic. Once an assessment is evaluated by me, I plan lessons and exercises according to the areas that need more work but also include concepts that can revisited as well. Each student gets their personalized method of learning based on what is more efficient for their brain to process whether it be visual representations or auditory explanations. I offer simple breakdowns of the concepts with step by step instructions on how to solve problems for complete understanding of the material. Most of the learning will come from working out practice problems together until the student is able to do them on their own. I know mastery of a concept is achieved when the student can not only get the problems right, but can also never get the problems wrong. My mission is to help my students grasp the concepts so they can perform well in class and also future math classes as well, setting them up for success throughout their school years.
