About Gabriel

I am fluent in both French and English as I was born and raised in Paris. I went to École Jeannine Manuel which is a bilingual and international school here in Paris.

I tutored roughly 5 people in my life and really enjoyed it. Most of the feedback I got was that I am fun and really got the student to enjoy my lessons and indeed the subject of interest.

I studied the IB Diploma Programme and got 37/45 with a 6 in Chemistry and a 6 in Mathematics at Higher Level. Therefore if there are any students out there struggling with IB, let me know and I'm more than happy to help since I completely understand what you are going through.

I believe I should be able to teach basic Mathematics: GCSE level or under in the UK, and can teach Chemistry at any level including First Year or Second Year university.

It's always been my dream to share knowledge and teach. When I was younger I used to teach myself out loud (in fact I still do that) and it helps a lot in understand the content. I am therefore passionate, determine and ready to help any student who needs it.

About the lesson

I like to make my lessons fun and engaging. Usually by first assessing where the student is at, I am then able to understand what needs to be done to build on their skills in understanding the subject of interest.
Along with a combination of explaining key concepts in a detailed and structured manner but also making it fun and engaging.

I would usually assign the student a little bit of homework for the next lesson and would be more than happy to answer questions via email between each lesson. The goal here is to then be able to not only give the student the opportunity to practice, but also helps them understand, since I believe from personal experience that 70% of learning is through self teaching and practice. But please don't stress about the homework, I am here to help and it is not meant to be adding on to loads of pressure that the student may be encountering outside of my lessons.

Lastly, due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, it is best I tutor via webcam. I do have a computer and there are tools that enable us to share our screen as well, so I'll be able to do that. As for the homework, I am more than happy to get this sent to me by email and I'll gladly correct this before the following lesson.

Details

I will offer my first lesson for free and then will charge £20 an hour (during the lesson, so no need to pay me extra for answering emails or correcting the homework before the next lesson).
