About Darshana
Hi! I'm Darshana, or Diya if that's easier. I am a young student, like many of you. There are many subjects in school I was not that great in, but English was definitely my favorite. I realized, we use English everywhere! Not just in school, but in life and careers. I know first-hand that English can be hard, as it is such a broad area of study. There are no formulas for the right answer, or technical parts to it. I am here to try my best to help others learn the way I was taught - through putting a heavy emphasis on understanding rather than memorization. It takes time! While it may not happen overnight, I will try my best to help YOU get a better grasp on some of the many areas of the subject.

English is not like other subjects; it is part of EVERY subject. Many subjects (Economics, Humanities, Law) can be viewed as an English class, just with additional steps. Point being, English is more than reading and writing, it is a heavily applied subject. A typical lesson might look like: Check-in – Discussion on struggles, wins, and what needs focus. Core Lesson – Dive into the material, focusing on UNDERSTANDING rather than memorization. Application – Students apply what they've understood, into their own words, with any assistance needed. I simplify without oversimplifying. I help students understand why something matters, not just how to do it. I teach skills, not just content. Writing, analysis, and critical thinking will help in any subject AND career. I adapt to the student. Everyone learns differently, so I adjust my approach based on what works best for them. And I'll always be patient!!
