About Armaan
Hi, I’m Armaan! I’m a Mathematical, Statistical and Computer Science student at the University of Toronto, and I genuinely enjoy helping students understand mathematics in a way that feels clear and approachable.
I know that math can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when a topic is explained in a way that doesn’t match how you learn. My goal is to make difficult concepts easier to understand by breaking them down step-by-step and connecting them to practical examples.
My lessons are patient, interactive, and tailored to each student. Whether you’re struggling with a particular topic, preparing for an exam, or simply looking to strengthen your mathematical foundation, I’ll work with you at your pace and focus on building both your skills and confidence.
I believe that every student can improve at math with the right explanation, practice, and support. I’m here to help you not only find the answer, but understand how to get there yourself.

My Approach as a Math Tutor
I believe that learning math is not about memorizing formulas — it is about understanding **why** something works and knowing how to apply it confidently.
My teaching approach is centered around breaking difficult concepts into smaller, manageable steps. I first identify what a student already understands, then build from that foundation using clear explanations, examples, visual reasoning, and guided practice. Rather than simply giving students the answer, I encourage them to work through problems themselves while providing hints and guidance when they get
A Typical Lesson
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material and an opportunity to identify any areas of confusion. We then introduce or review the main concept, work through examples together, and gradually move toward more challenging problems.
I like to use a **"I do → We do → You do"** approach:
I do: I explain the concept and demonstrate a problem step-by-step.
We do: We solve problems together, with me guiding the student's reasoning.
You do: The student independently solves problems while I provide feedback and clarification.
We finish by reviewing the key ideas, addressing any remaining questions, and identifying what the student should practice before the next
What Sets Me Apart
As a Mathematical, Statistical and Computer Science student at the University of Toronto, I regularly work with mathematical and analytical concepts and understand how intimidating difficult material can initially feel.
What I focus on most clarity and confidence. I avoid unnecessarily complicated explanations and adapt my teaching style to each student's needs. If a student doesn't understand something the first time, I approach it from a different angle rather than simply repeating the same explanation.
I also believe mistakes are an important part of learning. My goal is to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their problem-solving skills without feeling judged.
