About Mogamat Wazir

I am a student at the University of Western Cape. I am studying towards a Bachelor's degree in Computer science. I take math and astronomy as my elective/choice modules(subjects). The reason I think it to be a good idea for me to become a tutor is that I am a very relatable person. I am very approachable and I have a very welcoming presence. This allows me to click well with most people. This is very important because it gives people the reassurance that I can be trusted and because I am so comfortable to be around, I think this truly allows people to open up their minds to learning what I am teaching them. It is really important to have a trusting and comfortable relationship with a teacher, tutor or anyone who will teach you because it makes your learning experience and learning process so much smoother and in a way easier because even though you're always being told to get out of your comfort zone, you really learn best while within your comfort zone.

About the lesson

I take a different approach in teaching math. Although it truly and undoubtedly a difficult and challenging subject that may sometimes feel impossible to understand, I try to think of it and look at it from a different perspective and angle. In lessons, it goes without saying that we'd focus especially on your weak points and the topics that you struggle most with. I teach the way I like to be taught and the way I learn best. The best option is always the one that involves using a lot of concrete and everyday scenarios and examples. These examples will give you the ability to truly understand what you've learned and how to actually put this that you've just learned into practice. It will put you in a state of mind that will allow you to put all the formulae, that look more intimidating than they actually are, into action. This approach has proven helpful to me and many of my peers and colleagues.
