About Natalie
I’m currently in my first year at university, so I remember clearly what it’s like to be preparing for GCSEs and A Levels. I’m keen to support you in a way that works for you, helping you identify what you find challenging and finding strategies that overcome it. My approach is exam-focused, I want you to walk into the exam hall feeling confident in your understanding of the material and in your ability to use it effectively.

My Approach:
I believe that any student, given the chance to talk through their difficulties, can build a clear and confident understanding of English. My approach focuses on bridging the gap between classroom teaching and independent study, helping students clarify tricky areas and develop strong exam skills. I guide them in selecting and analysing quotes, understanding their meaning and context, and applying them effectively in responses. I also teach the technical elements of English Language so students can use techniques accurately and purposefully.
Lessons Structure:
Typical lessons last one hour. I tailor each session to the student’s needs, whether they require support with analysis, essay structure, revision strategies or understanding the content of the text. Lessons often involve learning a poem, working through an Act of a Shakespeare play, or analysing a passage from a set text. Throughout, I take an exam-focused approach so students become comfortable using and applying quotes under timed conditions.
Why me?
I achieved grade 9 in English Literature and grade 8 in English Language in my own GCSEs. I also have experience coaching younger students in reading, helping them develop fluency, comprehension, and confidence. My background working with a range of ages means I can adapt my communication style to suit each learner.
My tutoring is aimed primarily at students in Years 9-11 preparing for GCSE English Language and Literature. I also offer support for younger students who may be struggling with reading or early analytical skills and would benefit from patient, structured guidance.
