About Alex
I am a student currently studying at the University of Bath, doing mathematics. My Alevels stand at A*A*B with both A*s in maths and further maths. I also gained an A* in my maths related epq. I taught lessons in school to Year 8 classes every week for my previous school amongst other, in school, tutoring sessions such as just before GCSE maths exams. I love to teach and I have had very positive feedback on my teaching. I am happy to teach further maths or maths to a GCSE or A level standard. I did my maths GCSE a year early so hopefully, that can demonstrate my ability within the subject. I can tutor through the internet,
by coming to your house or by going to a library. I look forward to helping you/your child reach your/their full potential.

When teaching, it is important to note that everyone is different and learns at different paces and crucially in different ways. This is why my teaching style can vary in order to best suit whoever I am helping. When I teach, I often like to break things down to basics and build up since in mathematics it is crucial to have a good understanding of the foundations of a topic before you approach the top level problems. My aim in teaching is to help someone to fully understand a topic/ questions within a topic, to the point that they can succeed at the hardest of questions surrounding that topic. In order to do this, I encourage an active effort to solve the problems by slowly giving small hints until they can work it out for themselves in order to create a more ingrained memory of how to do maths.
