About Serena
I am a university student with a passion for both Science and English, and tutoring allows me to share my enthusiasm for English and support students in reaching their full potential. English has always been one of my favourite subjects, and although it can be difficult at times, I am a determined, empathetic and patient tutor who believes that every student has the potential to excel with the right support and encouragement. I particularly enjoy helping students build confidence in their abilities and develop a deeper appreciation for English, whether that's analysing literature, improving essay-writing skills or preparing for exams.
Alongside my studies at university, tutoring allows me to share my enthusiasm for English and support students in reaching their full potential.
I know what examiners are looking for and aim to make learning both engaging and rewarding. Seeing students grow in confidence and achieve results they are proud of is what motivates me to continue tutoring, especially as I used to struggle with confidence in English, so I understand how to relate to students and allow them to grow.

I offer 60-minute, one-to-one online lessons for students studying GCSE English Language, GCSE English Literature, and A-Level English Literature. Having achieved A*s in GCSE English and an A at A-Level, I understand both the demands of the curriculum and what examiners are looking for in high-scoring responses.
My teaching approach is compassionate, patient and tailored to each student's individual needs. I believe that every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to suit their learning style, strengths and areas for improvement. Whether you need help analysing texts, improving essay structure, developing exam technique or building confidence in English, I will create a personalised plan to help you achieve your goals.
As someone with a genuine passion for English, I aim to make lessons engaging and supportive while helping students unlock their full potential and feel more confident in their abilities.
