About Janelle
I have been tutoring since I was 17, mainly in GCSE Maths, Chemistry and the violin. I believe in a student-oriented approach - much like a cup of tea, everyone has different preferences, attitudes and concerns. I fully encourage my students to take the initiative to tackle material they find challenging, and to never be afraid of asking a question. I try to help my students understand the fundamental concepts behind a problem - that way, they can easily apply themselves to other questions of a similar nature, rather than being overwhelmed and facing the all too common question, "Where do I start?"

I'm Janelle, currently studying for my MPharm (Master of Pharmacy) degree at Kings College London. I studied at Wells Cathedral School before moving to the capital for university, and was also a specialist violinist there. Passions in life include music, chemistry, maths, tea and good literature.
I have always loved teaching and find it incredibly rewarding. I currently teach one GCSE Maths student, alongside my violin student. Three years ago, I tutored a girl in IGCSE Maths - she started off with hesitations but gradually gained confidence as the year progressed, and it was thoroughly rewarding to see her achieve a result that she would not have thought possible at the beginning of the year.
I believe that anyone can achieve anything in any field given the right support and attitude to learning. I thoroughly understand the importance of having a good teacher - it can completely change someone's outlook on a particular subject for good. Learning a subject should be fun and definitely not be a spectator sport.
