About Nicole

Currently, I am a student at Queen's University entering my third year. I am a Dean's Honour List recipient and have a planned exchange to Antibes, France in 2025 due to my strong proficiency. Before that, I received my French Immersion certificate and was an honours student studying French Immersion from grade 1 until 12. During high school, I tutored 10+ students, helping them to succeed in and out of the classroom - particularly with reading and speaking French, but also in grammar, writing, and homework help. I was inspired to begin tutoring after being a French reading buddy at the public library. I received a 97% in my grade 12 French Immersion course and am keen to share my knowledge with others!

About the lesson

My teaching methods include clear communication and focusing on the student's needs. I notice what students need to improve and help them to do so. I like to cater my lessons to each individual student, which is why I offer a free 15-minute consultation lesson to establish your proficiency. My lessons tend to focus on a central theme each week; when focusing on a theme, we will explore associated vocabulary, readings, and videos. We can then apply our newfound knowledge to grammatical concepts and writing. I am also happy to work through homework and school assignments and offer bespoke services tailored to your unique needs.

Ashley is doing a good job of learning and retaining new vocabulary. She is encouraged to practice her reading by sounding out one word at a time, and identifying the common pronunciation and accents we discussed.
