About Phil
I am the top graduate from the 2022 Modern Languages cohort at the University of Oxford and a CELTA-qualified teacher with 1.5 years experience.
I was the top-marked finalist across French, Spanish and all combined Modern Languages students. I was originally accepted to Oxford to study English and French and have therefore successfully gone through the English Literature admissions process. As such, I am extremely well placed to support students with GCSE, A-level, IB, admissions or degree-level work in English, French and Spanish, across both language and literature work. I am especially keen to support students with speaking, grammar, essay-writing technique, close reading, personal statements and interview preparation.
I am confident that my academic record and teaching experience, in both one-to-one and classroom contexts, makes me a fantastic support for anyone hoping to achieve academic success.

I am a firm believer that the most productive learning is enjoyable! My time studying at Oxford University was a complete joy due to the commitment, encouragement and academic challenge offered by my tutors there. I hope to transmit some of their enthusiasm to my students through my active listening, personalised guidance and bespoke lesson plans.
During my years as an EFL teacher I have developed a wide repertoire of teaching techniques in order to adapt to a variety of students, children, teenagers and adults.
