About Surbhi
I am a Biology study abroad exchange undergraduate student at the University of Melbourne and I am planning to pursue medical school after my degree. In my past experiences, I have provided one-on-one tutoring to grade school students in Maths, Biology and Chemistry. I am passionate to share my knowledge with others and help them instill a joy for learning and mastering concepts. Presently, at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, USA, I tutor a group of underpriviledged Burmese refugees youth in Math and Biology. In addition, I am a teaching assistant for an Introductory Biology course and aid students in mastering important laboratory protocols.

My tutoring and teaching methods are usually one-on-one based and aim to encourage students to be self-motivated. I aim to clear students' confusion by answering their questions about difficult concepts. In addition, I ask them questions and have them explain the same concepts back to me, as this method helps students solidify their understanding. To explain Biology and chemistry topics, I draw diagrams and incorporate analogies. For Maths, I usually walk through the steps to solving a problem and then encourage them to try them independently.
