About Mélanie
Je suis doctorante en création et lettres françaises au département de lettres et communication à l'Université de Sherbrooke et enseignante à l'Université du Manitoba ainsi qu'à l'Université de Winnipeg.
I am a PhD candidate, focusing on francophone literature in linguistic minority settings, namely in French-speaking Manitoba. I grew up speaking both French and English, and completed both my undergraduate and Masters degrees at the University of Manitoba.
I teach French at the undergrad level two large universities in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I've worked as a tutor, an educational assistant in elementary, middle, and high schools, and have experience working with learners of all ages, from early childhood to senior learners wanting to learn a new language. I look forward to working with you.

I like to see myself as a guide and an enabler more than a lecturer. My lessons typically focus on broad concepts first, to then focus in on details and structures. I love incorporating visuals into my lessons, as flowcharts and tables can sometimes help learners sort complex ideas into workable building blocks.
