About Britney
My name is Britney Nguyen, and I am a University of Houston graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics! I am a part of the teachHOUSTON program at UH, where I created inquiry lessons that engages my students. My passion for teaching started when I taught Vietnamese at my temple. Seeing my students grow and find a purpose through my lessons inspired me to continue teaching.

I create structured inquiry lessons that are culturally relevant for students to connect the abstract part of math to real-life situations. My purpose is to share the fun and creative part of math that motivates students to explore their curiosity for STEM-related and future careers. My lessons include an engaging activity that sparks their curiosity about a topic, a real-life example for students to know the purpose, and the applications part of the topic. My lessons will provide a strong algebraic foundation for and prepare students for college prep.
