About Emma
I am a Ball State University graduate with a degree in History, a concentration in Public History, and a dual minor in Anthropology and Historic Preservation. I admire the museum profession, especially that of teaching the public and inspiring the young people of tomorrow. I am currently a teacher's aide for a local preschool, but I look forward to my first opportunity to educate and inspire students through the use of facts and lessons as apart of a gateway into the next level of learning.

I approach each topic in the social sciences with respect and representation. I also do not mess around with the facts of history, meaning I try my best to tell and teach the truth. I think it is very valuable for students to realize what the past actually means for others and for themselves. I do not intend to instill myself as a dictator when I teach a lesson, but as a friend in which the student can count on in times of distress, but firm when needed.

Details
My rates will tend to vary depending on the level of the student and if travel is needed. If travel is needed, I will need to charge $0.50 for every mile traveled to allow for gas and car maintenance. Twenty miles or more will go up to $1 for every mile, with a maximum of thirty miles for traveling. This price is of course negotiable depending on route and time of day. My hourly rate for tutoring will go up for more in-depth sessions, such as exam study sessions and project preparations. The reasoning for this is because of higher stress and intensity levels during the sessions, but this is also negotiable as well. The cancellation of tutoring sessions will depend on the needs of the student, but I would like at least two hours' notice. For anything less than one hour, however, half of the tutoring session cost will be required to be paid. If the cost goes unpaid before the next session, the next session will be canceled until payment is met.
