About Julia
I am a medical student with a firm understanding of basic chemistry, having achieved an A* at A Level. I would be confident teaching chemistry up to GCSE standard. I have delivered teaching to my peers on a variety of scientific topics, and I enjoy coming up with innovative ways to help people understand and remember difficult concepts.

I shape my teaching around the individual. My general approach is to give a broad overview of a subject as a foundation, and then to gradually build on this with more detailed information. I prefer my teaching to be interactive, and so I encourage questions. I am open to teaching an entire topic, or just to provide one-off guidance regarding a particular question or difficulty. We can liaise over what you hope to get out of the tutoring, and formulate a plan together.
I feel strongly that in order to learn something, one must believe that they have the capacity to do so. My teaching is therefore based on positive reinforcement (pointing out what the student is doing well) and kindness. I am not strict, but I will encourage the student to challenge themselves.
