About Tamsin
My name is Tamsin and I have a BA (Hons) Degree in Classics and International Relations. This included studying Latin and ancient Greek language and literature. I studied Latin for 10 years, from the start of secondary school to the end of university - and I can say I enjoyed every second of it! Latin was my favourite subject at school; I particularly loved the puzzle-like feeling of piecing different words together to translate a sentence. I also enjoy the methodical approach and analytical skills you need to translate a text. I tutored beginner students while at university so have a bit of experience in explaining grammatical concepts to beginners. I understand that everyone learns differently and may need concepts explained to them in different ways. Most importantly, I want to spread my love for Latin with every student!

I chose to study Latin at university because I loved the language so much! I especially enjoy the logical and methodical nature of Latin, and this is what I focus on when teaching it! I will teach you easy to remember methods of learning grammar and translating sentences. I can personalise my teaching approach to the individual student, too - after all, everyone learns differently! A typical lesson will last 1-2 hours, but I am flexible. My lessons are aimed at beginners up to A level.
