About María

I am studying chemistry with computational chemistry at Heriot-Watt, currently starting my 4th year of my MChem.

I have also studied the IB diploma (International Baccalaureate) so I can also teach at that level to students getting now their diploma.

I am someone that gets good grades, so I usually end up helping classmates with some of the material; it is something I have enjoyed a lot and I would like to extend it to more people :)

Because of the specialty of my degree (computational chemistry) I had to have a solid maths background since I am still choosing maths subjects as electives, which is why I believe that even though it is not exactly what I'm studying, I would be able to give maths classes without a problem.

About the lesson

Since I am an undergraduate student close to the end of the degree, I feel confident about teaching students in a similar degree that are in their first years.

However, I think I am particularly suited to give class at high-school level. Additionally, since I studied IB, I would like to help someone get through it as well!

I am happy to adapt to any needs of frequency/method of class/resources needed. I would like to teach someone according to their personality and the way they work, instead of applying a single method.

Since the virus situation is still going on, I understand that people may be concerned about someone going into their house, so I am also okay with giving online classes when preferred!
