About Rueben
Training to teach at the University of Cambridge gave me a deep grounding in the research on how children learn — and I bring that to every lesson. I'm a Cambridge-qualified teacher (PGCE, QTS) with a First-Class Honours degree in Science, and as an official 11+, GCSE & A-Level exam writer and marker, I know exactly what papers test and where marks are won and lost.

My lessons are fully interactive. Rather than Zoom or Google Meet, I teach on Lessonspace — a purpose-built tutoring platform designed around helping children learn and achieve, not just talk at a screen.
Enjoyment and engagement come first: a positive relationship with the student is the foundation. From there, I focus on three key stages:
1. Understanding — securing the key concepts, so nothing is just memorised without meaning.
2. Application — practising across different question types until they're second nature.
3. Mastery — confident handling of exam-style questions, with the technique and timing that turn knowledge into marks.
When you contact me, I won't sell to you or push sessions. I'll have an honest chat about whether I'm the right fit — because I only take on students I believe I can help.
