About Janine
I have loved reading and writing from a very young age and would love to inspire this in my pupils, as I believe it can be a powerful escape, hobby and builds confidence in daily life, in terms of improved literacy skills and understanding other people's perspectives. I first studied Psychology at A Level and found it absolutely fascinating. Studying SPS at the University of Cambridge, I covered many aspects of Psychology (including social, developmental, cognitive, evolutionary, psychopathology, research methods) and attained a BPS accredited degree in Psychology. I then went on to achieve an MSc in Applied Child Psychology. I love learning new things about psychology and hope to make it as fun and interesting for my pupils as it is for me!

A typical lesson is 1 hour long. During the first lesson I will focus on getting to know the student, what they are studying (in terms of topics), the parts they are confident with and those where they could benefit from support. I have experience working in a tuition centre, plus working as a private 1:1 tutor. I have also worked as a Teaching Assistant at both primary and secondary level, through which I learnt a lot about supporting pupils of all abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs. I teach English up to GCSE level and Psychology up to degree level.
