About Alice
Hi! I'm Alice and I graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2024 with a high 2.i in English Literature. I am a friendly and kind individual who desires to make English a fun and exciting topic to learn and excel in. I have extensive skills in critical close reading, essay structure and can offer Oxbridge coaching as well as personal statement feedback. I have an A* in English Literature A Level and often achieved full marks in my essays. I achieved 9s in both English Language and English Literature GCSE, with my creative writing achieving full marks. I look forward to tutoring my students and I make lessons engaging and very fruitful, with a focus on independent thinking and improved writing confidence.

I focus my lessons on what the exam board are looking for (for GCSE and A level) as well as encourage students to think about the texts they are studying more critically and independently. I also look at essay structuring, how to time manage exams and work through questions clearly and successfully. Typical length of a lesson would be 1 hour and in that hour we will use multiple exercises of different lengths to get my student thinking about the texts they are focusing on. Working with extracts, concepts and how to approach the content in an efficient and successful way. Mainly for GCSE and A level students, I can also do Oxbridge admissions eg: look over personal statements, prepare students for the ELAT and interview etc. My lessons are for GCSE and A level students who are doing English :)
