About Amie
I am a third year student studying mathematics and modern history at the University of St Andrews. I scored highly in my National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher mathematics qualifications. Although I have experience tutoring friends and other students in high school, I am relatively new to online tutoring so I would be very welcoming to anyone who might feel a bit intimidated or unsure about the format! I believe anyone can and should be able to learn mathematics with the right approach.

I am happy to tutor anyone studying mathematics at a secondary school level. I understand that mathematics isn’t everyone’s favourite subject (studying it at university level can definitely be a struggle too!) but I do believe that with a solid understanding of the underlying concepts and a lot of practice anyone can do well in it. In lessons I would stick closely to the syllabus for the qualification being studied and pace the teaching based on both how confident the student feels and on how many lessons they would like to take. I would hope to provide clear, straightforward explanations for each topic and ensure that the student has plenty means to practise questions and access to past papers. I understand that online tutorials might be intimidating initially so I would like to put the student at ease and never make them feel pressured or anxious.
