About Alan
First off: WHO am I? WHY should you trust me?
I’m 21 years old, I’ve attained ALL A’s at National 5 AND Higher. I’m currently in my final year of Economics(MA) at the “prestigious” University of St Andrews.
(For further credibility: I can even email you my SQA certificates because so many people seem think that its impossible)
HOW exactly did I pull that off? First off, NO. Elon Musk is not my Dad nor is he my Granddad. Rather than innate ability/”IQ”, it really comes down to 2 things:
1)Strategy/Method of Study
2)Mindset
See, the HONEST yet HARSH truth about academia and studying for exams is that there are countless wrong strategies YET… very few correct approaches that yield ACTUAL results.
For absolute transparency, here are the correct strategies I'm referring to:
1)spaced repetition
2)active recall
3)and probably the most obvious... Past papers.
EVEN THOUGH I’ve just listed them, its very difficult for the majority of students to independently try and apply them to their own work.
Students often need a mentor i.e. someone who can help them connect the dots and understand how to actually become a lifelong learner. That's exactly where I come in. I’ve applied these strategies for myself throughout my academic career and for my students,
SO, to re-iterate, here's why I’m the man for the job:
-Not only do I offer my expertise with the actual course material, I also teach you how to ACTUALLY prepare for exams.
-ALSO, I’ve gotten pretty good at explaining complex ideas/topics in simple terms (and as a student I understand the frustration of asking a question only to be met with more confusion).
-Most importantly, I take my job VERY SERIOUSLY.
