About Naomi

As a tutor, I am enthusiastic, patient and dedicated. I genuinely enjoy helping students make progress and discover confidence in their abilities. My teaching philosophy is that every student learns differently, and with the right support and guidance, every student can achieve outstanding results. I have consistently achieved top academic results, gaining all 9s at GCSE (including Maths and Further Maths) and A*s in Economics, Mathematics, Geography and EPQ at A Level. My own experience of succeeding in rigorous exams has given me valuable insight into what works, from effective study techniques and time management to exam strategy and maintaining motivation. I am currently studying Economics and International Relations at the University of St Andrews, where I continue to build on my passion for academic excellence and critical thinking. Throughout my studies, I have developed a deep understanding of analytical and problem-solving skills, which I bring into my tutoring to help students approach challenges with confidence and clarity.

About the lesson

I have successfully tutored students aged 4–18 across a wide range of subjects, from early years support to GCSE and A Level preparation. My lessons are designed to be tailored, structured and engaging, ensuring that each student gets the most out of their time with me. During an initial meeting, I take the time to understand the student’s current ability, learning style and specific goals. From there, I create a personalised plan that targets what will be most beneficial, whether that’s reinforcing key content, improving organisation and concentration or building confidence and exam technique. I strongly believe in developing understanding rather than memorisation, encouraging students to think independently and enjoy learning in the process. Lessons typically last between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours, depending on the student’s age, focus and subject. I work with learners of all abilities, from primary and secondary students who need extra support, to GCSE and A Level students aiming for top grades. My goal is to create a positive and motivating environment where every student feels capable of achieving their potential.
