About Isabella

I am currently an undergraduate student at the LSE studying Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method, and have a history of working in youth education, from kindergarten to secondary school. This has involved both tuition and mentoring. My aim has always been to bring out the individual strengths of whomever I am teaching to allow them to perform to their best ability. At A-Level I scored 5 A*s (English Literature, Philosophy & Religious Studies, Classical Civilisation, History of Art, and an EPQ on the philosophy of neuroscience) and I am well-versed in the various techniques of essay writing and effective argumentation. English has always been a particular love of mine and I was awarded the Gertrude Clement Prize for exceptional prowess in the subject. I am familiar with comparative literature, creative writing, poetry analysis, comprehension, modern & classical text, and Shakespearean textual analysis. Currently, my favourite author is Franz Kafka!

About the lesson

I am focused on finding the method that works for each individual student. Everybody learns differently. Everybody has different strengths. That does not mean you cannot succeed at anything! Learning English is getting familiar with the art of communication, argumentation and creative thinking. It can be fascinating with the right tools! My job is to help you break down exactly what is required of you, and develop the skill set that is needed to address it. I work around analysis paralysis and information overwhelm by dividing the task into more manageable units. While taking into account specific areas for improvement of the student, we will approach the task while developing analytical rigour, clarity of expression and original interpretation to take your writing to the next level! Lessons will each last an hour.
