About Catherine
Hi! I'm Catherine and I am a reliable and friendly student with years of experience tutoring and great references. I am studying Combined Social Sciences at Durham University. I left Sherborne Girls with A Levels in Religious Studies, Latin and History of Art (A*A*A) and a A* EPQ in Sociology of Fashion. I got 8A*2A at GCSE.
I am experienced in tutoring children in preparing for Common Entrance but also tutor Latin to students up to GCSE and have achieved A grades and above with all my students. I provide tutoring services to A Level students in the subjects I took at A Level but at this level, the teaching has a different approach as it is more a collaborative effort with myself acting as a prompt rather than teaching because of the way A Level studies are structured. I have found this to be the most effective way to learn.
I am always positive, outgoing and very patient. I hold certificates in First Aid Essentials Level 2, Advanced Child Protection Level 3 and TEFL Foundations Level 2. I have always had a passion for learning and loved school so to pass that on to others is great.

I like to break everything down into topics and cover the bare essentials of the syllabus before going into more depth. I am a big believer in organisation so ordered notes, books and files are the key to success. Going by the syllabus given by the exam board is how I approach my structure so all involved have a clear idea of what is going on and it is easy to keep up with and plan additional study. I use CGP/revision guides, Quizlet and my own notes and books to make sure every detail is broken down as simply as possible but inclusive of everything essential to the course. I am so patient and know (because I needed this!) that having to have something explained over and over again is sometimes necessary and there is nothing wrong with that.
