About Poppy
As someone who has recently achieved A* grades in both A-Level PE and Economics, I understand the challenges students face and how to overcome them. I combine my subject expertise with a calm, supportive approach that helps students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging fully in lessons. My previous experience tutoring A-level Economics and PE on My tutor, as well as supporting GCSE PE and English students during secondary school has taught me the importance of tailoring sessions to each individual’s needs and learning style. I offer online tutoring exclusively for A-Level Economics (specifically Edexcel). My sessions typically run for 45 minutes to an hour, depending on what suits the student best. I tailor the structure of my lessons according to the needs of individual students, however I aim to cover the content or exam technique students are struggling with at the start of the session, then finish with at least 15 minutes of exam practise. I mark my students exam answers before the next session, where I'll take 5-10 minutes to go over feedback on their answers. I also encourage my students retry the exam questions that challenged them, to allow them to take on their feedback and improve. Furthermore, I give out topic specific question packs after each lesson to completed before the next session in order to consolidate and test their understanding. However, this structure is often adapted to meet the different needs of my students.
