About Jamil

My name is Jamil Mouehla (he/him/his), and I'm a collegiate student at Bates College studying mathematics and data science. I currently reside in the Mile End, as I am an associate student at Queen Mary University of London.

I play American Football at my school, having served previously as a running back, and now I am a linebacker. Aside from sports, I passionately enjoy working out, drawing, listening to music, cooking, hanging out with friends, and spending time with family.

As mentioned earlier, I currently tutor students at my university back home, with ages ranging from 18-23, and it's an amazing experience. At Bates, I teach Calculus I-III, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations. On the technical side, I help others learn about Python, R, and SQL. I'm licensed in R and have also taught at middle schools.

A couple of fun facts about me!

1.) My favorite artist is Burna Boy.
2.) I come from Nigerian and Cameroonian descent.
3.) I have 5 siblings, including a twin brother.
4.) Flex, but I can bench press 170 kilos!

I'm excited to meet all I come across and be an imperative part of your learning journey.

About the lesson

As a foundation, active recall methodologies and provided worksheets will be utilized. I aim to thoroughly cover and reinforce the fundamentals to facilitate progress toward more challenging cognitive topics. Conducting a pre-assessment will enable me to identify and diagnose my clients' mathematical/technical strengths and weaknesses accurately, providing me with a clear timeline and areas to focus on. The duration of lessons will vary from one to two hours, depending on the content taught and the lesson's structure. With experience teaching and tutoring at a prestigious college in the U.S., I have developed a strong passion for disseminating education to those who may not have equitable access or struggle to grasp it as easily as others. I am open to teaching students from kindergarten through grade 12, as well as college (university) level. My goal is to assist individuals on their learning journey and help them discover their passion for education.
