About Stephen
Hi, my name is Stephen Obure, and I am a 1st year medical student at the University of Cambridge. I have experience in tutoring, having mentored a Y11 student for Edexcel GCSE Chemistry, who went on to exceed her expectations of what she’d achieve for this course. I have also tutored a Y6 student for the 11+ exams. I achieved a grade 9 in GCSE Maths, English Language, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and would love to share what worked for me with my students. I received 3 A*s in Biology, Chemistry and Maths for my A-levels.

I like to teach by first identifying gaps in knowledge and understanding, and working to bridge those gaps before applying the content to different scenarios or practice questions. I would challenge my student and give them the opportunity to work independently first before assisting them if they get stuck. I believe that every student is different, and believe that tailoring my teaching to the student’s preferred learning style will yield the best results. I would also be happy to share what worked for me and what resources I used. I’d encourage my students to be intellectually curious, ask questions, and explore their interests beyond their curriculums.
