About Quinn

I have a real passion for maths and physics and I love sharing that passion. I plan to do my master's in engineering because of how much I love studying them, with the practical applications being my favourite areas. I find helping people grasp things they find challenging, and the relief it brings them, incredibly rewarding. I volunteered my time during my A-levels to help those in the younger years struggling with maths because I believed there was no reason for them to grow up to resent maths because of how difficult it was. I like to apply that same philosophy to teaching, in that, a subject becomes something you enjoy when you understand it.

About the lesson

I believe for STEM subjects the best method for improving understanding is to work through examples with a 1 on 1 tutor for guidance, which is often missed in the classroom due to lack of available time for each student. I studied 4 A-levels during my time at school. I achieved an A* in further maths, maths, and physics and an A in computer science. I also participated in the United Kingdom Maths Trust Challenge where I received gold. I have 2 years of experience teaching pre-GCSE maths with younger years and 1 year of experience teaching GCSE maths. I am available to help students with anything from GCSE maths and physics to A-level further maths and maths. I love helping people finally feel confident in their answers. Seeing them understand a concept and the relief it brings is why I tutored previously. Lessons can be online, or (in-person depending on commute time) and will typically last between 1 and 1 and a half hours.

Perfect! Quinn is an amazing tutor and my son, who is in Year 8, loves having Maths lessons with him. My son has always struggled with his confidence in Maths and Quinn has really helped with this and made him feel that he is actually capable. Quinn is so patient and kind and gives him all the time he needs to understand anything that he finds difficult, he is an excellent tutor who is clearly passionate and enthusiastic about teaching.
