I am currently a tutor in chemistry, a teaching assistant for computer science, and a supplemental lecturer in foundational biology at the undergrad level. A typical session would include a review of topics related to the problem, a step-by-step analysis and walk-through of an exercise, and then another example for the student to try on their own to explore and make mistakes. My approach involves working through the basics and strengthening foundational concepts before moving on to problems since I believe understanding promotes better results than rote memorization. My experience and completed courses are through the undergraduate level; any student in the K-12 or undergraduate status would be acceptable.
