About Rylie
Hi, I’m Rylie! I’m currently a Chemistry major at DePaul University, and yes, I’m one of those people who genuinely enjoys chemistry (I know, weird). My goal is to help make chemistry less scary and a lot more manageable, maybe even fun, no matter where you're starting from. In high school, I took honors and AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Calculus BC, and even did an independent study in organic chemistry just for fun (nerdy, but true). In college, I’ve continued building on that with general chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, instrumental analysis, calculus, and physics. I totally get that chemistry can be overwhelming, especially when it starts to feel like a foreign language. I’m here to break it down into clear, simple steps, answer your questions, and help you feel more confident with the material. I’m patient, easygoing, and always ready to explain something in a different way if it’s not clicking the first time. Whether you're prepping for an exam, catching up on class content, or just trying to survive stoichiometry, I’ve got your back and we’ll get through it together.

As a tutor, I focus on creating a supportive and personalized learning experience. I tailor each session to the student’s specific needs, using a mix of clear explanations, step-by-step problem solving, and active questioning to encourage critical thinking and deeper understanding.
A typical lesson begins with a short review of previous material or homework, then moves into the main topic with guided instruction and interactive practice. I end each session with a recap and suggestions for what to focus on before our next meeting.
What sets me apart is my ability to explain difficult concepts in a simple, relatable way and adapt my teaching style based on how the student learns best. I’m patient, encouraging, and committed to helping students build both skills and confidence.
I specialize in tutoring high school students in chemistry, with additional experience supporting college students in general chemistry.
