About James
Hi! I’m James, a current Medicine student at James Cook University with a genuine passion for helping students feel more confident in their learning.
I understand that difficult subjects can sometimes feel overwhelming, which is why I focus on making lessons clear, engaging, and tailored to each student. Rather than simply giving students the answers, I aim to help them understand why something works and develop the skills to approach problems independently.
Whether you’re looking to strengthen your understanding, catch up on challenging content, or push towards your academic goals, I’ll work with you to create a supportive and structured learning environment.

My teaching approach involves breaking difficult concepts into simple, manageable steps and using examples, diagrams, practice questions, and active recall to reinforce learning. I also encourage students to explain concepts back to me, as this helps identify gaps in understanding and builds confidence. Where appropriate, I can also help students develop effective study techniques, time management skills, and exam strategies.
Lessons typically run for 60 minutes, although I am happy to adjust the length depending on the student’s needs and age.
